Learn more about the reason why we have to offboard/close down certain accounts

Updated over a week ago

At Brighty App, our utmost priority is ensuring the safety and security of our customers’ funds and data.

In order to maintain this standard and in alignment with our legal right to offboard customers, there are occasions where we may need to close down certain accounts.

This is primarily to ensure the protection of our user base and to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Why might an account be offboarded?

Your account may have been offboarded for one of the following legally endorsed reasons:

  • Suspected Fraudulent Activity: In line with our legal rights and obligations, accounts that demonstrate suspicious or irregular activities hinting at fraud might be closed

This action is taken to safeguard all our users and adhere to the necessary regulations.

  • Source of Funds: Our commitment to security and legal compliance requires us to have clarity on the source of funds transferred to or from accounts. If we are unable to unambiguously determine the origin or destination of your funds, this could necessitate offboarding.

  • Third Party Service Provider Reservations: Occasionally, reservations or concerns flagged by our third-party service providers can warrant offboarding.

These partners, in line with applicable laws and regulations, have their own set of criteria for identifying potential risks.

  • PEP or Sanctioned Status: Our legal responsibility dictates that accounts might be offboarded if the holder is identified as a Politically Exposed Person (PEP), a relative of a PEP, a sanctioned individual, or if they are found on significant watch lists.

  • Technical Issues: Technical constraints, especially those related to third-party payment processing providers, may prevent us from providing our services to specific customers, underscoring our legal right to offboard in such circumstances.

We fully comprehend the concerns and inconvenience that offboarding might lead to.

We want to emphasize that such decisions are made in the best interests of our entire user community and in strict adherence to our legal rights and obligations.

If you have further questions or believe that your account was offboarded in error, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
